Stupid Bumper Question for Today

Several years ago, we used a bumper cover from Andymark that was elastic backed, large enough to fit over our bumpers and was tied off with small velcro strips. I want to do the same thing this year with our corner bumpers for a fast and secure color change. I didn’t see anything in the rules that says I can’t do this but wanted to ask my dumb question to the CD multitudes…what say you?

Think shower cap with a couple of velcro strips to firmly secure it.

Thanks

Not illegal to my knowledge. But we did red covers last year and after several matches the velcro was getting worn down due to lots of “defending”. Make sure the covers don’t fall off during a match and you should be OK.

The only thing that I can see that you’ll need to look out for is R26.B:

“hook-and-loop fastener backed by the hard parts of the BUMPER”

As long as your velcro is against the wood and not the noodles, you’ll be fine with this rule.

We have used this same idea for years. It makes a quick change of colors. To secure the bumper cover we just put in a couple of staples into the wood backing along the top or/and on the side for an open frame.
