Sub-teams

In preparation for our build season, we’re looking at how to divide up our team.
I was just wondering what the main sub-teams you teams all split into are?

(Sorry if this has been covered somewhere, but I searched and didn’t find anything)

We have five “sub-teams.”
Check out www.waialuarobotics.com.
It may only show 4 as our 5th one is outreach.

Sub-teams are great as it would be virtually impossible to have one group do everything involved with participating in FIRST.
That is a big misconception I get from people that hear about our program for the first time. They expect/thought that every student (25 for us in 2009) build the robot.

Man. I love threads about organization. The number one key to any student competition is good organization. When this exists the rest comes naturally. A good place to start is electrical/programming, end effectors and chassis/drivetrain. Don’t get hung up on specialization too much though. There is always crossover in student projects and this is not a bad thing. The important thing is to make sure that there is always someone looking after each area so that it does not fall behind.
