Substitute for WCP Urethane wheel used in the GreyT Shooter

Our team is looking to create a flywheel identical to the one used in the GreyT shooter, since the WCP version is unfortunately back ordered. We were wondering if anyone has a link to a product we can turn into a solid roller wheel identical to the one used on the GreyT shooter (WCP-195). We can both hex broach and cut/shape to the right size, but need a link to purchase something of identical material.

Fairlane wheels from McMaster. They’re under drive rollers. You can choose your own material. The urethane ones are gonna be more similar to the WCP ones but I’ve heard they pick up game material more easily. For that they have neoprene ones which apparently do not pick up game material at all. You also need to use safety wire. There’s a couple threads about fairlane wheels.

We do have the 1" version of the 0195 available still:

Here’s one example wheel from McMaster: McMaster-Carr

And an example of how 1114 has used this type of wheel in the past: FIRST Capital Ri3D 2020 Megathread - #98 by Karthik

As was pointed out in that thread by @Sohaib, since the wheel has a 1.25" bore, you could probably use a VersaRoller as a shaft (1.25" OD), and then mount VersaRoller hubs into the roller, to give you the Hex bore you’re probably looking for. This is a nice COTS solution for teams that can’t make a custom hub.

We haven’t tried this method, but it sounds like it should work. Other suppliers may have options as well.

Really just about any 4" wheel can work as well… Colsons, various vex wheels, andymark wheels, fairlanes, etc…

If not using the WCP wheel, I’m most partial to fairlanes (mentioned already here).

I’ve had success printing 1.27" OD hubs with a .505 hex bore on Markforged machines.

Any idea of when the 2" wide guys will be back in stock?

Just wanted to say we just printed a 1.27" hub with an on-size hex bore on our Onyx One today and it pressed it in perfectly with a nice slip fit on the shaft. Thanks for the tip!
