Substitute/other option for PWM Control

AM makes a really neat little board called the Thrifty Throttle 2. This allows you to send a PWM signal directly into a motor controller, thus controlling a motor without a RIO. They are out of stock right now, and also $30. Does anyone know of anything similar? I’m looking for the ability to generate a PWM signal without needing an entire FRC control system.

You could do it yourself with an arduino and a potentiometer and less than ten lines of code.

You could also get a servo tester. I just googled them and three of the first five hits were under $3.25 each. Except for the Jaguar, all of the FRC-legal motor controllers use the servo PWM standard.

Hadn’t considered that. I had forgotten that servos use PWM as well. An arduino would be a fun little project too.

An RC servo tester should work.
