Hello everyone! I’ve been here on CD before (~15 years ago, good to see the “You know you’re addicted to FIRST when…” thread still alive and kicking :D), but can’t remember my login from that time for the life of me. So, had to create a new account to ask for help and feedback on something I’m curious about.
I’m an FRC alumna and currently work in Silicon Valley as a researcher (innovation, emerging tech and interfaces). As a FIRST volunteer and judge, I spoke with a lot of students about how FIRST impacted their learning experiences, opportunities, and education/career plans. A large number of fellow volunteers I chatted with at Houston were also alumni, and it was great to talk about our own FRC experiences and evaluate how FIRST influenced our career decisions. It then got me wondering about the greater impact of FIRST and outcomes.
I know that there are a few threads here on CD related to the topic (e.g.
Where do our alumni go?), but if you know of threads or resources that I don’t, please feel free to point me in the right direction.

I’d like to aggregate the results and publish a report that distills how the FIRST community impacts students and influences their education and careers – as well as collect general insights into core values, skills development, learning, etc. Admittedly it’s a pretty robust survey, so my thanks in advance for bearing with. Would greatly appreciate a survey complete, sharing it out, and any feedback/thoughts on the topic. Thanks!
