Just out of curiosity, for those of you who are using gyros, what are your gyros rated for in terms of turning rate? The 90deg/s is too low and I’m thinking about buying a 150deg/s gyro, but not sure if that is the way to go.
Thanks,
Windell

We are using last year’s 150 deg/sec gyro. It seems to work well, but we didn’t test this year’s gyro to see if it would be sufficient.
Good luck,
Sam
Last year’s 150 deg/sec gyro (ADXRS150) integrated circuit is a COTS component, available from distributors such as Digikey, so it can be used.
However, the 2007 kit-of-parts circuit card that included that same gyro is not a COTS component, so it cannot be used this year. See this official Q&A response posted by GDC yesterday.
We’ve used ADXRS300 for the past two years.
Our 300 */s gyro is too slow.
300 deg./sec.
