Swapping Festo solenoids out for Mead and we can't get them to work...

Because of the impact on the robot, the wiring on our Festo solenoids kept coming loose during practice. We ordered some of the Mead ones from Automation Direct instead (AVS-5121-24V.) They seem much sturdier, but the kids ran into some trouble getting them to work. They are 24V and we have the PCM to 24, same as with the Festo. We didn’t change anything else. They don’t switch at all, though they are lit.

If anyone could help us troubleshoot, I would appreciate it! We have tried everything we can think of.

We had this problem a few days before bag and tag. The problem with ours ended up being that the little blue screws on our solenoid were not rotated into the correct position. Our lights on the solenoid lit up but the solenoid did not do anything else. I’m not sure exactly what position they’re going to have to be but you might just want to rotate these until it works right. If your solenoid does not have these blue screws, it might be another type manual control structure which is not positioned correctly.

Also make sure pressure is on the P port. They are pilot operated.

Did the Festo’s have a plug? If so in the future just put a dab of clear silicone on the plugs and it will hold them from loosening. I’ve seen hot glue used but the silicone is flexible but still removable like the hot glue if needed.
