The TechnoKats are pumped about coming up to Michigan for the Ford Sweet Repeat. We’ve got a whole slew of students attending, and a few adults. We’re planning to leave Kokomo at 2:30am in order to get to the arena by 8:00, hopefully. We’ll try to make our first match!
3/4 of the students we are bringing are totally new to FIRST.
Here are the top 10 things that these rookie TechnoKats will ask:
- What is a “belly check”?
- How does that head referee have SOOOO much energy?
- Who is that goofy guy in a cape saying “oooga, oooga, oooga”?
- Whoa… look at that little truck from team 68!
- What do chickens have to do with robots?
- Maaan… those martians drive that robot like CRAZY!
- Darn, our robot broke down again!
- Does the announcer really think he looks good in that goofy Hawaiian shirt?
- Our match is next? … we just went 5 minutes ago!
and the top thing they will say…
- Wow, DJ, you really ARE cool!

Just kidding…I don’t think we’re even starting matches before 9…I didn’t really want to mess around with the match schedule anyway 
I’ll have to start working with the match schedules tonight to see how things are going to work out…

Ouch! Well, we may have a HP ready for that first match, but that is about it. 
If we are actually there by 8:01, then we will be doing well. Put us in where you can… if we miss the first match, we can deal with it.

Don’t sweat it quite yet, Andy…I’m not going to be doing any manual “tweaking” of the schedule…the method 99 pairing that I contributed to the postseason code seems to work well enough for random pairings…it’s been used without any major complaints at a few postseason events so far…

I’M COMMING!! Yes - As I send this message I am getting ready to leave from Chicago to Rochester Hills. It’s currently 1:08 in Chi-town - and I miss FIRST so much!
