Swerve Bots at St. Louis

My team (2067) did swerve this year, and I was curious about how other teams who chose it approached it from a design standpoint.

I am trying to create a list of teams who have swerve so that I can check them out in the pits. If you did swerve or know of teams who did please tell me.

Highly recommend checking out and talking to the folks on 1640. They’ve had a swerve drive for as long as I can remember (except for one or two off years). They’re swerve masters at this point.

Multiple Einstein appearances as well. If you do digging, their cad is available for download too.

103 is another MAR team with a killer swerve and two district event wins this season

Team 1418 from CHS did swerve and made worlds. They are in Darwin.

This year 1640 has a CVT swerve! You definitely want to check them out if you’re interested in swerves.

1418 will be in Darwin division showing off their mostly reliable Andymark Swerve ‘n’ Steer modules

Is there a place I can find information on this? I would be very interested in seeing the robot or CAD, but I won’t be in St. Louis.

There are some nice images in this gallery on their wiki

Also add 2481 and 4143 to the list of swerves

I’m on mobile right now so I can’t find the details right now, but you can find all kinds of very useful information at team1640.com.

2767, Stryke Force, has a great swerve drive. I would also say 2054 but they missed out :frowning:

3419 has a 2-speed swerve in Tesla. We’ll be happy to tell you all about if you come by our pit in St. Louis.

You’re the guys with the freakishly fast swerve! Can’t wait to see how you guys perform. I was designing a two-speed swerve myself and was disappointed to hear it has already been executed :ahh:

Adding to my teammate’s comment, we used the Andymark Swerve-n-Steer modules this year. We’ve learned a lot about using them and programming for them, so if people are interested in the COTS option for swerve, definitely visit the 2410 pit.

We also used the AndyMark swerve modules but we took them apart and modified them. Come on over and check em out if you like

Hello! I’d be happy to answer any and all questions about swerve (or refer you to someone who can) either in our pit at St. Louis champs or here on CD. As previously posted, this is our first year with the Continuously Variable Transition (CVT) swerve module, and we’ve had a lot of fun developing it.

Above is the link to our swerve page, though it is rather brief and I can provide more information if requested. As also mentioned earlier, we do release all of our CAD models, and this is something I am much more familiar with. If you would like access to either this year’s swerve module or even standard swerves (without the CVT), I’d be more than willing to share the CAD and of course answer more questions.

I hope this was helpful and that I’ll see some of you in St. Louis!

This

Stryke force does swerve every year, and has definitely mastered the art. Tech Vikes on the other hand was trying a new thing this year, and I’ve heard this unfortunately caused them some mechanical issues.

+1 for 2767. Best in Michigan.

[strike]You might want to check out 16, they have been swerving for a long time.[/strike] NM, Houston CMP team now.

272, the Cyber-Crusaders, have a swerve drive that seems smooth, and I *believe *it was their first year building one for the competition season (at least from what I remember). They might be able to share some of their lessons learned.

The Roboteers (2481) has one of the best swerve systems I have ever seen. It features a two-speed system for maximum pushing power along with maximum speed. Absolutely incredible and they are happy to explain it to you. Be sure to stop by their pits in St. Louis. They are on Curie with us

We (Team 3176) will be on Archimedes. This was our first year with swerve and we used the revolution pro 2 modules. We designed a custom chain system to drive and module and mount it to the chassis.

Here is a list of all the bots I have found so far, thank you to everyone who replied.

103 Daly
272 Tesla
1418 Darwin
1640 Archimedes
2067 Darwin
2410 Curie
2481 Curie
2767 Daly
3419 Tesla

Feel free to stop by our pits anytime, we would be happy to show you our modules.
