Swerve/Crab Drive Moudles CAD 2D/3D

Hello everyone!

I’m currently investigating into integrating a swerve/crab drive system into an off season project for my FRC/FTC drivetrain programming teams.

We currently don’t have any mentors that are super skilled in 3D CAD modeling that have designed a swerve system before. So I was wondering if any teams had 2D and 3D drawing of the swerve modules/pods they used for their robots.

Thanks!
John Fogarty

Here’s ours from last year; this year’s will be up when the season is over. We’re already got some information up about it, though.

AndyMark also publishes CAD of the swerves they sell with 221, just flip to the files tab on (most) any of the products.

CAD is available for all swerve/crab drive products on our website.

Good luck.

I only see the STEP file for the completed assembly.
Is there a CAD directory available with all the parts disassembled, and with accurate dimensioning for the sprockets and gears?

I ask because I would like to 3D Print a swerve module as a way to see how it all fits together, show to students, etc before we purchase or build one suitable for FRC.

The STEP files do include all of the individual parts…you should be able to isolate each component for printing without issue.

Unfortunately I can’t do much to help with gear and sprocket details. We don’t typically spend time modeling those features.

The gears and sprockets we use in these assemblies are all Andymark brand components. Some of the Andymark models on their website have complete gear tooth geometry. I do not believe they offer sprocket details.

Alternately you can dig around the web to find detailed models for the sprocket teeth…Stock Drive Products has a fairly comprehensive selection. Similar options exist for gear teeth.

I have also used the iSpur_Gear tool from FIRSTCadLibrary.net in Inventor to draw gear teeth when needed.
