My team has been experiencing a issue when we drive randomly our swerve would make a loud click from the gears and stop, then right after we would be able to drive again. From what we have experienced it has been at random so I haven’t been able to get a video of it.
When it does happen I notice our CanCoders flash red then go back to green. I checked that the magnets where installed correctly. Our average CAN usage is ~50%. Anyone have any idea’s what could be causing this.
This sounds like a brownout and your breakers are tripping.
It happens even with a fresh battery so I don’t think it is a brownout. As for the breakers, I haven’t noticed them tripping.

I checked the DS logs, and don’t see any listed brownouts during the time we had the issue.
I did notice one or two CAN stale messages but they where when the robot was disabled.
Can you post the log(s)?
How long is the dropout? A quarter second? 5? 10?
Is this a newly built drivetrain?
No wifi or connection drops right? No change on the DS during the event?
The dropout is ~1 second. This is a newly built drivetrain, and there where no wifi drops or changes.
As for posting logs it may take me a bit todo.
Here are the DS logs, I am unsure what to post so I posted all the files from when we were driving that wasn’t super short in time length.
I see some messages like “Internal Issue with Print and Error tags” which indicates to me that you do not have the latest driver station software (2024 Patch 1). There was an issue with the kickoff release of the DS that would disable the robot more often than needed and would not print a helpful error message. That was fixed in 2024 Patch 1. That should either fix your issue or at least give us more detailed information about what is happening.
If it is still happening after the upgrade please post another log.
Will do, I didn’t know the patch for the driver station came out, so I haven’t been using it yet.
