We are looking using SDS MK4i for this season’s robot but are worried about how strong they will be and how well they will hold up to being hit by other robots. Has anyone had any experience with breaking these modules? Or have ways to reinforce/disperse and force being put onto the modules?
They are pretty strong. If you watch any 1712 videos from last year you will see me chaotically slamming the robot into just about everything that moves and doesn’t move, and we never had a module break. Your wires are more likely to break

The modules are very strong, you just need to make sure to be using thick enough 2x1s for the frames and not the cheaper thinner wall tubing.
Also will second to watch the wiring, the gears are exposed and will rip out loose wires.

We ran MK4i last year for the first time and they held up great over 64 matches. Watch for loosening screws, because even with loctite some of them want to back out over time. But structurally they are fantastic. And I second watching your wire routing.
