[TBA]: Suffield Scrimmage Video Chopping

Video of the Suffield Scrimmage can be found here: http://www.thebluealliance.net/cdvideo/2008SuffieldVideoFiles/

I currently do not have the time to examine and split this video into its constituent matches. The matchlist is here: http://www.thebluealliance.net/tbatv/event.php?eventid=180, so it should be simple to figure out what match is which by who is playing.

If anyone wishes to lead an effort to break up splitting up these videos, please feel free. I am currently being owned by college.

I tried to split it up, but windows movie maker won’t let me import it because its not indexed. I don’t know what that means or if there’s a way around it, but it there is, let me know.

Does anyone else have a problem with the videos only partially playing. Video 1 only played for a few minutes, then I tried afternoon 2 and it played for about half an hour before it too just stopped. Also, it still plays exactly like a webcast, even though it’s not, I can’t jump around in it. I assume that’s what it means by unindexed. Is there someone who knows how to index it? And is it just my Windows 2000 that won’t let me play them through?

Thank you Greg, the rest of TBA, and those from 230 who recorded/webcast this. It’s amazing information for those of us who couldn’t watch the real thing because we had our own robots to build!

Real thanks goes to Paul and Rich from Team 230 for providing us with the footage from Aces High’s annual scrimmage!

I’ll research this “no index” issue. I think I have fixed it before.

[EDIT]

Windows Media Encoder installs a tool that will reindex files for you. You just open them and save them and it reindexes them. I am reindexing these videos now and will re-upload them in a few minutes.

They’ll all be back up with proper indexing unless you read this before 1:15am.

[/EDIT]

I tried downloading the new formats (Im assuming they are in the same location as the old ones). Im still getting the “no index” error. I’ve download windows media encoder and I’ll try running it through that and see if it works.

Hmm you’re right, WMM is still giving me that error as well.

I could convert them all to AVIs?

I think that would work. Let me know when they are up. Thanks
