Team 1318 - Issaquah Robotics Society - 2016 Reveal Video

On behalf on Team 1318, I am proud to present our 2016 robot, Gimli. We are very excited to compete with some of our fellow PNW teams this weekend! Good luck everyone

I really like the design. I also noticed some welds on your robot, do you guys use tig welding? Anyways good luck this year.

Just one of many great PNW Team reveals. Great robot, cant wait to see this myself in Ellensburg! just dont destroy the field, please.

Yes sir! We have a mentor who knows the owner of an auto repair shop, this year all of the welds were done on a tig box except for a few done with a spool gun in some hard to reach places.

BTW, I lived in Fort Collins for 15 years until I moved here in December of my freshman year (just in time for the 2013 build season :)). It’s nice to find a fellow FIRSTer from FoCo!

I noticed that you used the Stronghold logo as a part of your video with a clear background. Doesn’t this break FIRST’s branding rules?

From my interpretation of page 11 of the FIRST branding rules guidelines PDF available on the FIRST website, the rule against putting the FIRST logo on a “distracting background” applies to the FIRST logo itself, and does not apply to any of the subsets (ie, FIRST Stronghold logo) of the FIRST logo. The page I downloaded a vector of the FIRST Stronghold logo from is an official FIRST page.

Also note that the FIRST Stronghold logo is marked with a Service Mark, meaning it has not been registered with a trademark office. Meanwhile, the official FIRST logo has been marked by a (R) restricted trademark symbol, meaning it has been registered with a trademark office.

If an official representative of FIRST contacts me asking that it be changed, I will do so. For now, I do not see that I have violated any of FIRST’s branding rules or guidelines.

From the page containing the FIRST Stronghold logo EPS and JPG files: “FIRST STRONGHOLD℠ logo is made available to the public to promote your team and the FIRST Robotics Competition.”

Excited to see you guys in a few days! Auburn mountain view looks to be a great district event.

Haha what a small world, Good luck this year.

So what does it do?
