Here is a video of the evolution of Team 1629’s Trackball Hurdler.
It starts out with a working LEGO model, and ends with live game video.

thats pretty cool! how did the hurdler old up during competition?
They got to the semi finals with us at Buckeye and gave the winning alliance all they could handle.
An amazingly fast robot with a very good hybrid mode (good for at least five lines). Smooth shooter who’s only real weakness is it can’t acquire it’s own ball. That’s what our job was to get them a ball and put up our 4 to five hurdles to make an effective allaince with 2228.
wow thats pretty impressive i must say
are you guys going to any other regionals or going to nationals? i wanna see this in action
Yes, we won the Engineering Inspiration award at Buckeye, so we’re off to Atlanta. Now I have an FRC and FLL team at Nationals… Oh I think I’m going to be busy.
Here is a link to a cool Hybrid clip from one of our elimination matches.
Thanks to 191 for working with us to double-team our hybrid mode. We use Sonar and Gyro to do rapid laps, but the sonar is a bit slow in detecting the end of lane divider. By having a R/Coach at each end of the field we were able to reduce our lap times by giving the bot advanced turning info.
They also were a quarter finalist at Chesapeake.
