Team 1665 Weapons of Mass Construction

First time we have posted on Chief Delphi about our robot, so if you have any questions or suggestions please let us know.

Shaq-Bot

+Two Gear Transmission built not only for speed but traction as well
+Short Design to help with balancing and staying upright
+Arm to lower bridge to retrieve balls or aid in driving on the bridge (arm has been changed out for strength as well as the wheels, the pic above shows our first design)
+Able to retrieve balls from front or back
+Shooting turret turns 200 degrees and adjusts up and down

-unable to traverse barrier
-no Hybrid mode
-Not an accurate shooter, but is able to shoot and score 3’s as well as pass balls across the entire playing field

Here is a couple of links from driver training as well as the Tech Valley FIRST Robotics Expo

Thanks for checking us out and see those of you attending the Northeast Utilities FIRST Connecticut Regional in a couple of weeks.

*note paper plate is not part of design, we had that in place to protect our electronics.

Can we have some specs on your shooter itself? Do I see CIMs running the wheels via chain? This design intrigues me, particularly that protrusion that comes out off-center…
What kind of wheels are you using, because it looks like one side has omnis on them, which seem counter-intuitive for a pushing match (ie. getting t-boned)

Not a problem CalTran:

Our shooter is feed from the bottom and moved through the shooter via a floating belt system on the back that is being powered by CIM’s

We are running CIM’s with chains and I am unsure of the protrusion, but that may be the gear box you are looking at.

We have omnis on one side and traction wheels on the other side. Good point about the getting t-boned as we didn’t try that out but we are still able to push quite well.

Thanks for the questions and feedback, much appreciated.
