Considering your hashtag on this post, am I right in assuming that you have a cheesecake component that allows your robot to grab a gear from an alliance member?
Now that I think of it, with the position of our gear intake, maybe it would be possible for 701 to do the same thing…you guys got me brainstorming now.
By the way, if your team has a floor pickup for the gear, we can deliver a gear to you in auto with no need for cheesecake. Just an idea for alliance picks!
Congrats, guys, you just made it possible for two robots to score 3 gears and 40 kPa in auto. See you on Einstein.
(Just make sure your programmer knows to not run on the field when it works at comp;) )
All aboard the hype train
So this is what you’d use in elims when you have a partner that has a gear+balls auton comparable to yours but not a 2-gear (or simply has a better gear+balls auton than you), and you have another partner that doesn’t have a single gear auton more reliable than your 2-gear auton? I guess that could happen at a top-heavy regional.
can only wait to see what they do in the competition season.
This is amazing.
Are you guys planning on doing a full reveal eventually?
Well, turns out they do have a gear intake. I love this robot already and I haven’t even seen it. As far as I can tell you have a double cut bumper system? Looks like ball intake in front, gear intake in back. Sweet video guys. You are always setting the bar high at the beginning of the season while continuing to raise it.
Turns out you don’t actually need a robot to inspire people, just some really good bench grinders!
Love love love it.
For everyone thinking this is only useful at top heavy regional or CMP, I think it’s more useful elsewhere. The Gear + KPA auto is great for quals, get an instant RP, lots of points, seed high. For playoffs they then just need a partner who can do a single gear auto and is decent with gears, and a partner for cheesecake. Combined, that’s 3 gears in auto (120 pts, same as single gear plus KPA and bonus in playoffs), and gets them 3/12 gears towards the 4 rotor 100pt bonus. That’s a huge play and really tough to beat at a regional level. That alliance can get over 400 points without touching fuel (130pt auto, 80pts for rotors 3 and 4, 100pt rotor bonus, 100pt for two climbs). That probably wins most events up through DCMP.
I am now wishing that I signed up for Houston.
I will try to watch CVR, Sacramento, and LVR.
Maybe see it live and in person at the Festival Of Champions?

I see those 4 mecanums you put out there to toy with us.
Looks Fantastic, can’t wait to see the full robot!
Because 1 hard mode autonomous wasn’t good enough for us this year.

I’m still failing to see the benefits of a 2 gear auto past an alliance member not moving/not scoring a gear in auto. This seems like more of a Quals auto, and your other auto being an Elims auto.
Either way, nice work! Can’t wait to see your finished product!
You don’t need to get on the hype train if you never leave it.

See, this is why we can’t do ridiculous things in FRC. It requires approaching the edge of madness, and some of us may enjoy it so much we’ll never come back!
I asked before and I’ll ask again. How can I get my bench grinder to do THAT!?!?!
Anyone else think those wheels on the ground are a hint? :ahh:
After seeing their 35kga + gear auto i thouht that they had a drivetrain like that. But normally 1678 uses tankdrive and after seeing this video i think they are going with tankdrive again this year.
That’s 13 seconds when the gear gets in the airship by my count, leaving 2 seconds to get the rotor going. Pretty tight window.
