Team 1787 Crescendo Off-Season Robot Reveal

Team 1787 is proud to reveal our 2024 off-season robot: Noodle 3.0

The robot’s design is based on our 2024 competition robot, Ronnie. Unlike Ronnie however, Noodle is not able to climb the Stage or score in the Trap and is instead a Speaker and Amp only bot.

Intake

Due to the lack of Trap-scoring, Noodle’s intake and pathing to its accelerator is much shorter and simpler than Ronnie’s, and has a very direct path into the accelerator compared to Ronnie’s “snake path” intake design, and due to this the Notes seem to intake faster.

Some videos of the intake being tested can be found here and here.

Accelerator

Noodle’s accelerator (note shooter) is very similar to Ronnie’s, but the side panels are made of wood spray-painted silver instead of 1/2" polycarbonate. Additionally, while the flywheels for Ronnie were controlled with a single Kraken motor per side, Noodle instead has 2 NEOs per side, with 1 NEO per flywheel.

A test of our Amp scoring can be found here.

Noodle, along with Ronnie, will compete at the Center of Robotics Innovation (CORI) Robotics Invitational tomorrow in Columbus, Ohio!
