Team 2185: video of robot so far...

Hey guys here are 2 links to 2 videos of our robot as of last night…

I will be posting more today, hopefully with the shooter working and shooting balls…

Thanks

I’m curious as to why your cRIO modules are removed…I believe you can’t do that.

ok so i put the 2 missing ones back in…

is that what you meant?

actually you can. The only modules that you need to leave installed on the cRIO are the 9201 Analog module in slot 1 with the battery monitoring jumper (<R64>) and the Digital module in slot 4 with the sidecar attached to run the Robot Signal Light <R58>.

All other modules can be removed if your team is not using them.

yea see i did think you could leave them out… There is no justifiable reason for them to be in…

Oh wow, thanks. Sorry for the earlier post then.

I’m confused as to how the shooter is supposed to work. The sprocket on the CIM is lined up with one on the right shooter roller, and another sprocket on the right roller is lined up with the one on the left roller. I don’t see an idler anywhere, which implies that both rollers would turn the same direction.

Well what i think you missed is our custom gear box under that plastic plate were the balls fall onto and get shot out…

That allows the rollers to roll in reverse directions…

We will have video up tomorrow hopefully of it actually shooting

That robot looks like it could kill somebody.

Just, I’m not sure if it’s a video affect or if I’m mistaken, but looking at the robot coming down the hallway, it looks like your chassis is caving inward, which would make your wheels not lie a on plane which is 90 degrees from the floor…

Anyone else notice that or is it just me?

Just to make sure, is there a Q&A you could point me to, Greg? Thanks.

edit: nvm I found it.

Yes, this is permitted (except you cannot remove the module in Slot #1, to preserve the battery monitoring function). If you do remove unused modules from the cRIO Mobile Device Controller, we highly recommend that you use the spare port covers provided with the controller to cover the exposed connections at the bottom of the cRIO to prevent foreign debris contamination.

I noticed that too…maybe there is a bend in the frame?

no you are correct it is slightlly bending…

We just put a brace going across in so it now stays square i guess you could say…:stuck_out_tongue:
