If we put a tube over spider-legs 7,8 and 1, do we get a score of 3 or of 2 and a 1?
check the updates they clarify that a row of three on 7-8-1 does count as a row of three and will score the normal 8 points
Actually, this was a rule to begin with. It has not changed since kickoff.
just think of it has a huge sphere, it connects and never truely ends.
I think cylinder is what you meant, a sphere would imply connections across the top and bottom.
you are correct sir.
geek]Actually, connections between top and bottom would make it a torus (donut)./geek]
I believe the easiest way to think about what are rows and what aren’t is to realize that the numbering is for reference purposes only… there is no game difference between 7,8,1,2 and 3,4,5,6. The numbers just make it easier for the participants to discuss where to place the ringers and spoilers. If there were a difference then the orientation of the rack at the start of the game could potentially hamper one team unfairly.
Imagine a game with the red team starting with the 1,8 divide on their side. Both teams fill the twelve legs on their side and never cross the middle line. Blue wins as they have four rows of three and three rows or four… while red has four rows of three and 8 rows of two. This is a decisive advantage. Therefore a row of four is a row of four… regardless of the numbers on the feet.
Thats exactly what I said, but my teammates wanted to ask… Well, They should know.
Yeah the manual didn’t specifically state that, so I asked it in the Q & A.
