Ohhh. Akash like the drivetrain design.:yikes:
Thanks!
HAHAHA It was donated from someone last year. I never really sit in it… but it is confy:D
Haha u are always sitting on in while u watch us students hard at work.
Is it just me… or is that a smiley face on the side :yikes:
I more than approve…
Yes…it is a smiley face… our guys got a little carried away:rolleyes:
took us almost 4 hours on the waterjet to finish those 4 plates:eek: …i blame the smileys:D
Where are you guys using a waterjet? Is it through Georgia Tech?
No, a place in Woodstock called Capital Fabrication generously lets us use their waterjet.
O cool. I remember calling them in 2007 I think to get some machine time. Good for you guys. Nice drivetrain. It looks super beefy. Whats the weight? O and why the monster spur gears?
nope, second year sponsor.
I wanna say waht you see there weights in at 11lbs…but i cant remember for sure. The monster spur is for the reduction we wanted in a single step:yikes:
Yes it is 12 LBS per module, plus about 3 for the crossbeams, so probably about 27lbs total for the drive. The spur gears are about 1.5LBS a piece, but if weight is a problem we will take weight out of those, if not it will be nice to have that weight down low.
Thats not too bad on the weight. Yeah those gears could easily be turned down to cut weight. What are you planning for the upper part of the bot?
Who knows? Hopefully that will be finished soon, and more pics will come.
