Team 2659 Needs Falcon 500's

Hi I’m from Team 2659 we borrow some Falcon 500’s. Over the summer we redesigned our robot and part of that included adding more falcon 500 motors to the robot. At the time we were ok with the amount required but we discovered 2 of our falcons had bad shafts that couldn’t even spin and a third that had wiring problems beyond repair. Our original plan was when they came back in stock during the summer we would buy some but they never came back in stock and Tidal Tumble and Beach Blitz is about 2 1/2 weeks away. We were hoping that we could have some falcons for the events and either return them after the events or buy you guys new ones which ever you preferred. Our parts are already made so we don’t have the luxury of just changing what type of motor we’re using. We need 3 to complete our robot and if you can’t let us borrow 3 even 1 can help. If you can help you can contact me in a DM or email me at [email protected] and Thank you

Can you clarify what you mean by “bad shafts that won’t spin”? Is it the shaft, or is it the motor itself that doesn’t spin. If it is the shaft, you should be able to replace it.

The bolts that held the shaft got liked sheared or came loose and now the shaft won’t get powered at all its the same issue on both of them.

Could you send a picture?

I have had a similar problem with falcons, and it was a pretty easy issue to fix, if you could provide more details I might be able to help

So one of our mentors apparently took them home to see if they could be fixed and I don’t have any pictures I apologize

So good news one of our mentors gave soldering an extension onto our motor with wiring problems another shot and it’s working again so now we just need 2 motors for our climb

I’d like to give a thank you to all those who replied in this thread for your suggestions and a special thanks to team 4201 Vitruvian Bots for lending us the falcons that we needed you guys are truly a model of gracious professionalism. We were’t able to fix our broken falcons unfortunately but we’ll learn to be more careful with them in the future. Thank you everyone and we’ll see you at Tidal Tumble and Beach Blitz
