On December 17, 2016, the LigerBots (FRC 2877) are running one of two Massachusetts FLL state championship tournaments at Newton North High School (Newton, MA). The FLL theme this year is “Animal Allies.” As a way to encourage these 48 teams of elementary and middle school students to continue their participation in FIRST robotics once they outgrow FLL, we are hosting a robot “zoo” in the large high school hallway right outside the pit area of our tournament.
We would like to invite all Boston-area FRC and FTC teams to bring their robot to demonstrate in our zoo and even to set up your pit. You may come in the morning, 9-12, (set up starts at 8:00) or in the afternoon, 12-3, or stay all day if that works best for your team.
We had the LigerBots 2016 pit set up at the FLL qualifier we ran on Nov. 19 and had our 2014 robot throw large balls to FLL participants. We had tremendous interest from younger students in our robot and team. We know that they would be very excited to see some of the other FRC robot and pit designs, and to talk to your team members. We hope this will be an attractive outreach opportunity for your team.
