Team 3039 Presents: Quicksilver

Team 3039, Wildcat Robotics, is proud to present our 2023 robot, Quicksilver.

Quicksilver features:

  • SDS mk4i L3 Swerve Drive equipped with NEOs
  • 3 Stage Continuous Elevator with WCP Greyt V4 Elevator Blocks + Wrist, enabling the robot to score all game pieces at all levels
  • FRC 111-inspired intake

This season, Quicksilver competed at the Arkansas, Magnolia and Bayou Regionals, as well as in the Newton Division at the FIRST World Championship in Houston. This offseason, we also plan to compete at the Red Stick Rumble in August.

Team 3039 is supported by St. Charles Parish Public Schools, Destrehan High School, Shell Norco, Bayer, Cospolich, DoDSTEM, Chevron, and Entergy.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the robot below, and myself as well as other teammates will do our best to answer them.

This robot is really cool!
What’s the reasoning for the pneumatic actuation of the intake?

The intake is pneumatically actuated because we wanted to use the 111 intake, but it wouldn’t fit in our frame perimeter for starting configuration. To fix this, we gave it a “jaw” with those pistons, which opens up to what the original design of the intake was. Adding this jaw also increased game piece security, not that it was much of a concern with the original design.
