Team 334 Shooter

We spent today fixing our prototype for our shooter and are now able to start machining the final product

We are able to shoot full court into the low goal (from our safe zone!) and shoot into the high goal for our autonomous positioning.

We’ll disclose more on our shooter later.

Looks like you were shooting from the feeder station which is not protected;)

But very impressive. The shooter looks very accurate at such a long distance. Now to get my team to be able to do that.

Im hoping you positioned the pyramid PERFECTLY! because if not that would be horrible to hit the poles. Also if you were to shoot them from the feeding station, into the 1pt goal for a total of 51 points, what does the 2 other robots do? together 3 robots scoring the 51 discs into the 3pt or 2pt goal could get alot more points

Yes, our pyramid is positioned correctly. We triple checked that today.

That, we’re unsure of. Really each match will be different, we can reach all three goals, and it comes down to what works best with our different alliances during qualifications and who we’re up against.

Nice work!

What type of shooter did you use? staight? 180? 90?

Can you also shoot from the protected feeder station?

That’s probably the answer you’ll get.

What happens when any robot gets between you and the goal? Specifically a taller robot.

Looking at all these high-powered shooters, is anyone concerned that the chains won’t be enough to prevent the Frisbees they fire from bouncing out?

And with that disclosed information, would you mind gathering the start up time of your shooter as well? (How long it takes until the shooter is running at its full speed.) It’d be greatly appreciated.

Just to answer some questions. Our shooter is a 90 degree bad boy. Pictures of the custom transmission used to power it have been posted a few days ago, so feel free to check those out.
The start-up time is about 2 seconds.
Honestly, it’s nothing more than a combination of a number of designs posted on CD over the past two weeks. You will see once we have the actual final version ready. Until then, just keep trying. It’s easier than you think.

Well then obviously the full court shooting will not be a strategy we can use in that match. We’ve tried to see for both high and low goal how close and how far away we can be and still make it in and are giving all this data to our programmers.

To be honest with you, even though we got it far, the speed it was at when it went through the goal would have easily been stopped by the chains.
