Here’s our last night/bag it night build. We got our bot up and running. Code’s good, belts work, it will probably go to the circular disposal unit when it’s competition time. We’ve come a long way since our rookie year! I’m proud of our team’s effort. Our main goal is to actually get chosen this year! LOL
Nope, not top heavy as the conveyor is set quite low and the battery compensates for the other side. We’re good for about 20-40’ consistently. We’ve got two FP motors driving the shooter geared down. The shooter is mounted vertically so we can get back spin. We’re using the classic 81-120mm mortar aiming method…mark II eyeballs and Tejas windage at present. Our barrel design is straight from a WW2 Spigot Mortar/British Churchill at Normandy. Can’t see going fancy as it’s another system to program, maintain during competitions. We’re a small charter school so we are limited in membership as well. Everyone wears multiple hats. Hey…it’s simple and simple tends to work for us. As is, it’s the most complex bot we’ve put together to date. Hopefully it will look better once the vinyl appliques are on, the LEDS are mounted for “coolness”. We’ll be competitive and we’re definitely hungry after our result last season. We were second…from the bottom. That’s ok…we took THAT honor with pride!!
See all at the Dallas Regionals. Watch out Team 148…we may be ugly but we be coolio oogly! (Y’all don’t have ANYTHING to worry about…trust me)
