Team 341 would like to thank...

I’m sure this is just the beginning of a long list of thanks from various members of my team, but here’s a start:

Teams 175 “Buzz” and 236 “Techno Ticks” for being the very best alliance partners possible. You may not have always been high in the rankings, but to us it was obvious that you two were the top teams in our division. We won our division and, had it not been for some bad luck, would have carried nationals as well.

Team 651 for being my best buddies in the pits and after a hard day of work. You weren’t in our division, but I personally had a blast at the Galleria that night - thanks for the lift! I had a lot of fun checking in every so often and seeing that you guys were winning; I felt like part of the team.

Team 357 “Royal Assault” for rooting for us throughout the competition. We had loads of fun together at the park and in the hotel; it’s always a pleasure to have you guys around. A shame we couldn’t share pits again like at Drexel.

Further thanks to each and every one of the teams we were paired with throughout the entire competition, and also to the dozens of teams that helped us in one way or another from round to round.

After just coming back from our long plane ride and bus ride, I must throw my two cents in here as well.

Teams 175 (Buzz) and 236 (TechnoTicks) could not have been better alliance partners. Thank you both very much for accepting our invitation, working so well w/us, and just basically being awesome people to work with.

Thank you to team 651 for offering to take us out to the Galleria, even if those vans were a little full, I still had a great time w/you guys.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to team 357 (Royal Assault) for rooting for us in the finals of our division. Your support of our team really meant a lot to us and I was glad that you were there. I really do feel like we were representing not just our team, but yours as well, and I hope that our win can be felt by your team as well. I am sorry that we could not be in the same division but congrats to you guys for making the strides that you did w/your own bot.

Congratulations should also be given to teams 1218 (CHAbot), 225, and 84 for doing so well in their respective divisions.

As a scouter I watched a lot of rounds and the following teams in our division amazed me:
312 (Heat Wave) for your most interesting design of your bot and the consistency of your autonomous programming
303 for your extreme reliability and just overall simple yet effecient design
486 (Positronic Panthers) for your reliability as well; I remember seeing you at Drexel and your consistency amazes me

Anyways, on a more personal note: 341 had never been picked to participate in playoffs since its inception and the fact that this year we were 4th and able to make our own alliance (w/a 100% student built robot) really means a lot to us. Overall, thanks so much to all of those who supported us along the way!!!

I wont repeat what was allready stated, thx to all the teams. Who i really want to congrat are all those excellent rookie teams! You came in and did a great job! Next i would like to congrat all of you for actually walking the half mile between stadiums! lol

All in all, everyone deserves a big pat on the back! cant wait to see all you at the next nationals!

341… Thank YOU!!

You guys impressed me so much, I don’t even know where to start…

– Your 100% student built bot: wow - very nice work – even without any of the rest of it, you should be very proud of that achievement

– Your performance Friday and Saturday: Fourth seed amoungst some pretty stiff Galileo competition; I think that accomplishment speaks for itself. Very nice driving, and awesome coaching.

– Your scouting: First Rate – lots of teams (including Buzz) can take some lessons from you on this one – even though you had never been in the finals since your team’s inception, you out- classed most teams with your information gathering and your attention to detail – Kudos!

– Your finals stategizing: OK – I still cannot get over the fact that this was your first trip to the finals – you handled it like old pros – great job!

– Your attitudes: top notch – it was a pleasure making the journey to Einstein with you. You guys rock!

– Your Regional Chairman’s Win: You guys definately have what it takes – keep on plugging… IT will be yours soon enough

CONGRATULATIONS on all of the above. You are awesome. Thank you for letting us take the journey with you.

I can tell you now that Buzz and our friends the Ticks went to Nationals with the hopes of one of us seeding high enough to pick the other and form an alliance together – we figured that together, matched with the right team, we had some pretty good chances – we just had to find the perfect alliance partner. Well, as fate had it, neither of us had a good Friday, and ended up ranked downstream. Saturday morning we were both slightly bummed about that. But low and behold, out of the clouds Miss Daisy came swooping down and snatched both of us up – in an unexpected reversal, the perfect alliance partner found us – I cannot tell you how ecstatic we were that you made our dream come true. Then you led us all the way to Einstein! Way to go!

Thanks again – I don’t think I can say that enough.

Hope to see you guys in the post season! Keep in touch.

I would also like to thank all the teams that we were paired with during the entire competition. Thanks goes out to all of you, we couldn’t have done it without any of you. Also, a special thanks to Buzz and the Techno Ticks for being great partners during the elimination rounds in Galileo and on Einstein.

Thanks to everyone,
Brian

Aidan,

Thats a great story about how you and the TechnoTicks wanted to pick each other, I’m glad that we were able to pull all of us together into the awesome alliance that we were.

Also, thanks for the scouting compliments, I personally appreciate that one

  • kir ]-

hmmmm… anyone up for making a robotics workshop? we can all get together and practice. next prob… logistics

Yeah…here I am thanking so many other teams, but I forgot to thank my own!

Mr. Ostrow, Mr. Haine, and Ms. Campagna - Thanks for everything. I couldn’t have wished for a better senior season…I’m off to college now, although I can say with certainty that this won’t be the last year with FIRST.

Mr. Matthias - You were my buddy! Remember staying up until 2 AM to “finish” the robot?! Good times! You kept me cool-headed, gave me all the help I needed, and were one of the best friends I had on the team.

Mr. Torrente - Muchos gracias! Whether it was hardware or software, mechanical or electrical, you were always willing to have a sense of humor and dedication that we all appreciated!

Our scouting crew - You did a FANTASTIC job. You picked out two AWESOME partners even though they weren’t at the top of the standings. Armed with the right robots, winning the division was almost ensured from the beginning.

Our video crew - being able to watch our matches on a big screen in our pit only fifteen minutes after each one was incredible. I am sure that the video of the finals will be just as amazing…

Our Chairman’s crew - We won the regional award, and did our best to get the national one. Hey, what can I say - 103 deserved it as much as we did.

Our pit crew - that robot was working in EVERY single match…how awesome is that? The best part was not having to do anything but change batteries in between rounds at the end…that is something that we have not been able to do very often!

Our booth crew - AMAZING driving, AWESOME armwork, and BRILLIANT coaching. Not to mention human player skillz

Our business team - We won the biggest prize available! Awesome work, both of you.

Uh…I can’t remember any other teams right now, but thanks to everyone on my team!

Aidan:

Thank You for the kind words! Our student Scouting Crew did a thorough job and knew who they wanted from the beginning. Both you and 236 have great machines.

What was incredible to us is that both 175 and 236 were still available to select when it was our turn. How often does the 4th alliance get the exact teams they are hoping for? It was like a dream come true.

I thought we had the perfect alliance and almost went all the way. When we got flipped on Einstein we shattered a sprocket and couldn’t lift ourselves back up. Just a bad break.

Good luck in the off-season and hopefully we will see you at the PA Robot Challenge on May 10.

A quick thanks to Miss Daisy and Buzz (Boss over Shoulder) Team Daisy thank you for picking us we knew that we could help.

Well put the stuff away for a while and concentrate on the rest of the school year Summers around the corner!!
