Team 4301 Seeking a Team to Remotely Mentor Us

Hey all,

Some of you may remember me as the captain of team 4301, the New Tech Narcissists, from 2013 through 2016. They’ve asked me to reach out on their behalf, as the most established CD user associated with the team.

4301 comes from a very isolated part of Texas. The closest teams are a very impractical two-hour drive away, and we have noticed in the past few years that this lack of an ability to consistently collaborate with local teams has caused our knowledge base to be pretty self-limiting. This has been especially true in the past couple of years, as the team was especially upperclassman-heavy, and the team graduated a significant portion of its core crew more quickly than they could train new members to take their places.

We are looking for a team that would be willing to remotely collaborate with us on an approximately weekly basis, to discuss general progress and to share ideas.

I know that this is a lot to ask for, but I and all of team 4301 would be very grateful for any help you can give us.

Hi there

Pearadox (in houston) could remotely assist y’all. We also do an event on kickoff day to help local teams identify strategies and goals, maybe we could somehow Skype someone into the discussion… But that may be a little tricky.

However, I would highly recommend after the second round of registration to look and see who all is signed up for the same regional as y’all (hub city) and identifying a team that you may think would be a good mentoring team (currently 1817 and 1164 may be good teams to reach out to). If you don’t think you know the teams well, I can definitely help. Maybe find a team that’s won the chairmans or engineering inspiration and seems to do reasonably well at regionals. That way at competition you’ll have a mentoring team already familiar with your team and ready to help at competition.
