Team 433 Builds a Bot

Finally getting around to posting this.

Nice video. What does the second servo shown in the video do? It looks like it locks the arm

Hm… pretty cool. Good job guys and gals.

More the latter than the former, given that it’s 433, but I definitely agree–it looks great!

I still can’t quite figure out how that brake works…

Channel 4’s bit:

practicing in the cafeteria:

That’s a sweet lifter.

And the continuity is impressive. I kept waiting for someone to move that chair

Did you build it in one day? Or did you just keep the shop real tidy?

Yes, it locks the arm by clamping on a sprocket hub. Here’s a photo of the innards:

Just to keep things interesting, we wait until the last weekend to build. Actually, we put tape on the floor marking where to put the bot and where to stand with the camera, and snapped at photo every few days. The shop wasn’t a pretty site on ship day.

hmm, looks like a similar gripper which was found succesful.

Looks cool. Most teams that i saw didn’t have arms that worked that well, ever. Im sure that by nationals it will be more common for people to have arms that work well, but good job on doing it the first time.

Is there a picture that we can see?

I like your use of the servo to create a 3 position pneumatic piston. Good luck.
