Team 4918 Presents: The LaunchBot Control System

Hey everybody, I’m James, the head programmer at Team 4918, and I’d like to present our latest control system innovation, Launchbot!

What is Launchbot?
Launchbot is a set of software that allows a robot to be controlled by a Novation Launchpad S or Launchpad Mini. It requires nothing but a Teensy 3.0 board as a pseudo joystick and an Arduino development board.

Why use Launchbot?
Launchbot allows reconfiguration of button patterns on the Launchpad, as well as feedback possibilities. Because the launchpad can be configured in almost any way, your team can use almost any competition scenario, so there’s no need to buy/build a new controller every year. It also allows fine adjustments from competition to competition for flawless operation.

How do I get Launchbot?
You can download Launchbot from our github at
Launchbot is licensed under the GUN GPL version 3, so you can do anything you want with the code as long as it remains open source.

How do I set up Launchbot?
