Team 498's Newest T Shirt Shooter Robot - Decimiator

Introducing The Cobra Commanders Newest T Shirt Shooting Robot

Using two Andymark Nano Tube 20 Gearboxes, 6 wheel West Coast Drive Train. It uses CO2 to fire shirts, all brass plumbing, barrel size is slightly larger than 3in.

Its first event we brought it to threw out a first pitch for one of our sponsors The Arizona Diamondbacks.

Do you have a cad you could post? Looks great!

First off thank you! Second. We don’t actually CAD anything, it was all built the old old school way.

Do you have any napkin based drawings you could share

Looks good. We are taking on a tshirt shooter project this summer as well.

Randy Johnson would be proud. Just keep birds away from it.

As a huge baseball nerd, I’m jealous. Is there a story to your MLB team’s sponsorship?

The Diamondbacks are huge supporters of STEM here in Arizona, including hosting the Science of Baseball Night and STEM night where they invite hundreds of students to the ballpark and have interactive demos including FIRST Teams throughout the concourse.

We are lucky enough to receive a grant from through their foundation and they will be purchasing new laptops for the program this summer!

Its top pitching speed is around 90mph…

Do you have any cool videos of it you can share?

LOL. I don’t even know if we have those… i’ll share the links from Amazon with the parts for the pneumatics.

5lb CO2 Air Tank

Adapter from Tank to Regulator

Solenoid valve from barrel to Reserve tank

Regulator from tank to air line

The solenoid is wired to a spike.

We fill the co2 at a local home brewery shop for around $20.

I will see what I can get!

What accumulator tank did you use? I cannot find anything with a large enough port.

Looks great! But if it isn’t powered solely by deCIMate gearboxes, I’d be sorely disappointed. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks Adam, this will come in handy. When we get ours done, we will need to have some kind of shoot off!
