It’s been an amazing year - we’re really thrilled with how it’s gone: a quick summary:
31 wins, 1 loss, no ties
regional winner, KC
regional winner, 10,000 Lakes
(We scored the double ubertube 5 or 6 times at 10K)
quality award at KC
quality award at 10,000 Lakes
animation award at 10,000 Lakes
website award at 10,000 Lakes
Woody Flowers award for our team leader, Kenton Swartley at 10K
To make things even better, our scrimmage partner 967 had a fantasic robot as well and an awesome drive team. We were lucky enough to be able to partner with them at 10,000 lakes.
The cherry on top came at 10K when a team we mentored a bit, 3642 was still available for our third pick.
We could never have imagined that the year would play out so well.
Your team is a truly inspiring group of students and mentors, and it has been a real privilege for us each time our teams have had the opportunity to interact. I admire your level of organization, the careful consideration and depth of detail you put into all of your work, the breadth of your accomplishments each year, and the dedication of all of your team members. This year, the biggest result is another group of students who are extremely professional, responsible, and knowledgeable.
Congratulations 525 on your outstanding year so far. It has been great to watch your team and to get to know you over the last couple of years. We look forward to meeting up with you again in St. Louis. You are always welcome to come the the CowTown ThrowDown in the fall or back to the Greater Kansas City Regional. Good Luck in St. Louis.
Outstanding work once again by 525. The robot was a hard competitor to face. The best few matches we (2518) had was against you guys hands down. Like anyone, we wish we could have been allianced with you guys. Also, sorry for scaring you. So many people said that those semis were the best matches they had seen in years. The action was fierce and the outcome could have been either way. We have the utmost pride to be able to say we took the undefeated team 525 and gave them a defeat just as we take the utmost pride in saying we lost to you. Good luck in St. Louis.
Seems the video is unavailable now. I went to the link, they showed me the 15-second advert, then displayed a message saying “the video you are requesting is unavailable.”
I would have liked to have seen it. This looks like a great idea to leverage into some fund raising, which most St. Louis-bound teams are probably madly trying to do just now.
