1/2 inch Thunderhex seems to be out of stock everywhere online, and our team uses it extensively. Does anyone know when it’s planned to be back in stock? We don’t have much stock remaining, which makes it difficult to work on some of our planned offseason projects.
Also, if you are a team in the CA Bay Area and are open to selling us some stock, we would definitely be open to purchasing some!
Would highly recommend reaching out to VEX directly for an idea on when their next shipment will be in. Anytime during the season (or in the fall) when I’m getting worried about a part not being in stock for a while, they always get back to me in a very timely manner (almost always same day if I reach out in the AM).
Just send them the part #'s you’re interested in and they can give you their best estimate/timeline.
Thank you so much, we’ll send out an email to them!
I would also recommend looking at this new product from Rev, as it looks like they will likely have it in stock in about a month? Who knows with the supply chain these days, of course.
We’ve been frustrated as well on not being able to purchase many items we need for a new robot this off-season. Been robbing recent practice bots of their parts. >.<
We know better now to stock up (4 robots worth per season) when we can on items we know we will use.
If a metal lathe is available, regular hex can be cut down to thunder size.
Thanks but we unfortunately don’t have access to one currently
Huh, that is weird… The Canadian warehouse is only out of stock, not discontinued. But the US warehouse definitely says discontinued.
WCP shows 1/2" ThunderHex as being on backorder right now. I wonder if @R.C can chime in on when they’re expecting more ThunderHex.
Or if someone from VEX can give us more info. Even if it’s as vague as they have a new part-#/revision/part coming. The thought of no ThunderHex for 2023 is a little alarming to say the least
That part number is being discontinued, but it is being replaced by a new part number that isn’t in stock yet. Someone must have prematurely marked that as discontinued.
The new part number will be available this fall.
Thanks Jon! Definitely had me sweating a little there. Haha
