Team 6081 Seeking Programming Mentor

Hello!

Manchester FIRST Robotics (FRC 6081 | Digital Dislocators and FTC 11193 | The Flying Dutchbots) is looking for a programming mentor to join our organization. Over the past several years, our teams have been advancing rapidly, experiencing high levels of success including 3 district wins, 2 district finalists, 2024 FiM finalist, and have qualified for worlds twice, finishing in 2023 as a division captain and in 2024 as Galileo division finalists.

Despite all of this success, we have not had access to an adult programming mentor since the 2020 FRC season. We have been forced to rely on the knowledge of a few highly dedicated students who have learned almost exclusively on their own.

We are seeking someone who can help our program continue to thrive without needing to constantly rely on the assistance of other teams in order to accomplish our programming goals. Whether in person or virtually, we believe that having a programming mentor join our organization will allow us to take the next steps towards program sustainability.

About Us

  • Located in Manchester, Michigan (slightly west of Ann Arbor).
  • We primarily use command based Java for FRC, and for FTC are hoping to move to Android Studio for the upcoming FTC season.
  • We are a small school based program, comprised of roughly 10-20 students between both our FRC and FTC teams.

If this sounds like it may be a good fit for you or someone you know, please feel free to reach out to us at the following:
