Team 692 Website

I was wondering if you could give us some constructive criticism regarding our website.
This year we made the mistake of changing to a template that is very uncustomizable and no designs, so there’s that…

Any ideas for the banner? Please?
Thank you!

Looks great! Can’t wait for SVR! See you all there!

EDIT: It would be helpful to put pictures and information of your robots on your website. It’s not only helpful for other teams, but it’s also a cool way to show off what you’ve done.

We’re going to the Central Valley & Sacramento regional. Good luck though!

That’s a great idea! We actually have our robot info under team history, but it’s a bit buried. We’ll give them their own section. Thank you so much!

No problem. We’re going to Central Valley as well, but SVR won’t be the same without the Fembots. Who else will lead us in the Cotton Eyed Joe?! :yikes:

AWWWW. You kind of just made my life.
I think maybe you should lead it.

I guess it’ll be practice for Central Valley then. :stuck_out_tongue: Good luck for your next 3 weeks, and see you in Madera!

I’ll be taking you up on that. I’ll be awaiting video footage. n_n

edit: woops, back on topic…

Since my thread inspired yours :D. Your site looks pretty good so far but you might want to go with a website builder like blogger and webs because you can actually learn a ton while keeping your website and template looking pretty good. After using one of those for awhile then you probably to go back to your own template and stuff.

I would try to include some nice gadgets along with the site itself. Some pretty cool ones you could get from would be widget box or other providers.

Looking good, it’s a nice basic site. It’s easy to use, and you’ve got most of the content you need. I get that the team color is pink, without being blinded by it. ::safety::

Some suggestions:

  • Most of your pages are missing <title> tags
  • Resize the thumbnails for the Meet the Fembots page – they are all 500px wide, and it loaded kind of slowly. Resizing will make the page load quicker and look better.
  • A bigger FIRST logo at the bottom would be nice
  • A couple history pages are missing, or images do not load
  • I looked at your source, and there’s a loooooot of tables. While it works okay here, you shouldn’t use tables for layout in the future.

From an all girl team to another, I think your site looks great!I love the color scheme for the site and the background. Robotics related but still classy. I also really like the picture for the banner of the physical sign. If you want to make it a little more prominent I could see adding some graphics to it (to put your menu on top of) and maybe a team slogan with some color blocking. Photoshop would be useful for that if you have it. I love your headers and the simplicity of the white backgrounds for the pages. I would look into adding more pages (which I’m sure you’re doing).

Let me know if you have any questions on how to do things, I do our team’s site and just made our new site from scratch: You should take a look

it looks really great! but you have alot of unnessary code when it comes to the calender and the menu. but if it work stick with it!
