Team 854 after many years competing in the FR Competitions, now has a brand new website. This website is student programmed, and new content is in the works.
Just out of curiosity, do you have a link for it?:]
brendan
does student programmed mean using wordpress? but otherwise it is looking nice… but once the more content is added it should be up to shape
Who needs to know team website URLs? http://frclinks.com/w/854
Thanks Pat! For some reason the first time i googled it and the page wouldn’t load so I thought that it might have been the old one and the new one was around. I just thought it odd that there wasn’t a link for it. All i could think of was, “Is it just me, or did I just miss something?” That wouldn’t be the first time, once i left for robotics at 5:45 and an email was sent at 6:04 that it was canceled. Got there around 7 and there was no one. I was a bad night. 3 hours in the car isn’t fun.
Looks great! Nice and simple, not too many pages or something like that. Content is helpful and to the point. Nice theme/looks too. Keep it up!
Its a nice and simple website that gets to the point, but using wordpress doesn’t mean students “programmed” it. It just means that you used a management system (in this case: Wordpress) to make a website. But in other cases, its great.
:] George
good simple website.
For anyone who doesn’t know about this great team, you should check out this great student powered team. They constantly produce unique designs, and very effective scoring robots. Their 2006, 2007, and 2009 bots were all efficient scoring machines (Get more pictures of your old robots up on the site!!!). their 2007 robot is still one of my favorite designed robots of all time, it really showed how a omni drive bot can be specially designed to dominate a game. I still love watching how fluid the path of their arm was designed, add to that a double ramp. If 1114 and 2056 weren’t as powerful as they were that year, 854 would have made a lot of noise with that robot at champs.
Hope to see another inspiring robot from 854 this year.
Haha, dang, seems like 1114 and 2056 were like a wall for the very impressive force of 854 and 1305.
Anywho- the site looks pretty decent, I can’t wait till more content is up!
Thanks alot Jonathan,
Its really great to see someone take notice of our efforts. We really do pride ourselves on the student run aspect of the team, although it is very difficult and trying at times, we believe the end product and the experiences along the way are very rewarding. I must agree with you about our 2007 robot. It was by far my favourite, and our best so far. Unfortunatly the strong leading team members that built that awsome machine, left the future generations of our team with very little. We have spent the last few years building the club up again and basically staring with scratch. Unfortunatly our 2008 robot was of poor quality and wasnt properly designed, as the club presidents of that year were very unorganized. We are proud of our unique design last year which won us multiple awards. I personally along with the rest of the team cannot wait for this years competition, as we are by far the most well organized and prepared we have ever been, and we have a very strong group of seniors on the team. Thank you for your feedback on our website, and please be patient as we are still uploading more content including a robot archive.
Can’t wait till kickoff!
