Team Business Cards..Have Any?

I found myself at the end of a conversation about the team with a local merchant and had to scribble the team URL down for him.
A team business card would of been helpful.

Does your team have business cards with contact information to pass out? We all make handouts for the regionals, but I have never seen a team business card.

Well, our team started this last year…we had business cards for each team member, stating the following:

Name
Team Job
Email of Member
Team Website URL
.

It was very awesome and extremely helpful. =) People seemed to be very impressed with that.

We had team business cards a few years ago John.

Sounds like a good thing to start doing again eh??

We were halfway through getting buisness cards, but we didn’t… I really don’t remember why. Instead, we use our robot trading cards.

We had cards in 2003, but didn’t have time this year. We haven’t decided if we wanted to do them again for next year. They’re a bit of a hassle.

We might still have some for the simple fact that I got one last year. It may have just been one that was lying around though. If we do have them we should start giving them out (what good are they if we don’t hand them out?) or get more made. We definitely could use them to get people interested in the team and donations.

Now to figure out what I did with it!

These are really easy to do. In fact, so easy that I’m going to hand this over to you, Dori, to do this year.

I used Home Publishing for this and made them for each team member, using my home printer. They looked a bit homemade, but they did the job. Better yet would be to get a company to donate them to the team. (Hint, hint, Dori  ) I’ve handed out dozens of mine. Most just had the website, but the officers had their email. No phone numbers except for the adults. I know some of the team used them a lot at the regionals, especially when the judges came around. And I know they worked, because I heard the judges addressing some team members by name during the “handshake” at the awards ceremony. I also used them a lot when approaching sponsors.

This is a good example of how to make your team seem more professional.

we had paperplate name tags. and buttons… and awards… and since we dont have a team website, or any specific jobs for any team member(everyone does everything). i suppose this counts?

I often have reasons to use them, just don’t make it a habit to have one.

our original versions…

we have some too, i think the graphic arts department at our school left our teams URL out… but we have some, but rarely anyone has cards. we try and pass them out…

btw, i hear a nv regional…?

We used to have em in 2001-2003. Dont remember using them at all last year, or so much in 03’

Cory

I know Sean Schuff has a Team 93 business card to be passed out at demonstrations, but the students don’t have personal ones or anything.

I have an official 2003 DJ Fluck business card sitting around here, somewhere! :ahh:

We design our own business cards each year with the 3-4 leadership students on the team contact information. We hand them out at parades, scrimmages, events, and at business meetings. They seem to help a whole bunch.
Nate

We used them last year. Anyone who wanted customized ones (with their names and personal contact info) could have them printed, and I made generic ones for people who just wanted to point others to our website, and to the FIRST website…

I made them using a Word template and plain white business card stock.

Sounds like a very good idea. I’m in charge of fundraising and I think I should start getting the members of my team who take AP Studio Art to start putting their artistic skills to work.

This would be very useful for my team members to have. We could give the cards to any possible sponsors we might need.

oh joy! evil grin
Ah, and to anyone who might need help on what to add on the card, PM me or Miss Jenny aka RoboMom007. =) Or just look at her post. Hehe.
