Earlier this summer, we created a thread looking to buy parts for a robot. Here is that robot now!
Before I start, we would like to give a huge shoutout and thanks to Koops Automation Systems for their generous sponsorship and support for making this robot. Koops Automation designs, builds, and integrates automation systems, uniting rock solid engineering solutions with stellar customer support to meet the complex demands of robust manufacturers seeking to grow. After working in their facility for the past few weeks, we can vouch that the company’s culture and people are amazing! Please check them out here: Koops Automation Systems.
@TheRealJamesOo, @steggs85, @kyleh8892, @LilyRuth24, and I are proud to present the 2023 Team Koops Offseason Demo Robot: Koopa Troopa! We will be on this thread to answer any questions you may have, so please don’t hesitate to ask! To preemptively answer a common question, we chose not to use swerve as we could not find any modules to buy at the time of purchase for components.
This robot project was driven by these 5 young people doing an internship at Koops Automation or through team relations in FIRST Robotics. I am excited to see 5 Alumni Students to full fill their dream to design, build and program a robot to compete at the Gitchi Gummi Event in Duluth Minnesota . I am proud of the ownership how they worked together as they share their expertise in different areas of marketing, sponsorship, design & build as well as completion of the robot.
Koops see that students from FIRST Robotics are being prepared for the real world of Automation as well in many industries. We thank all the mentors that invest into young people like the Team Koopa Troopa!
Good Luck this weekend!
Sincerely,
Dean “Dino” Shafer
Koops Project Engineer
Also posted in the GGGT thread, but will post here too:
On behalf of Team Koops, we would like to thank everybody that made Gitchi Gummi Get Together possible. 2512 and UMD, what an amazing event! We had an incredible experience, learned so much, and cannot wait to hopefully come back next year.
