Team Member Registration for Champs

I don’t understand this part of the email blast. This is the second time I have seen it.

New this year! Attendee Registration: FIRST is requiring that all Championship attendees (students, mentors, spectators, etc.) register for the Championship event. Attendee registration grants participants access to activities and event transportation. We encourage you to register your team members in advance to save time when you arrive on-site at the Championship. You can complete attendee registration here:

This is the second email I have gotten, and when I click the link, it takes me to the place to BOOK YOUR HOTELS.

What am I missing here?

Did you book your hotels through FIRST?

This is probably to make sure only FIRSTers are using the provided transportation between the different events throughout STL.

I’d assume that just like the finale, you can only pre-register by booking a hotel

I saw it as well, something to do with attendee badges. I hope someone else is able to answer.

No we are not booking through FIRST hotels. I finally saw the “fine” print…geesh!
