Our Mentor 2 received this email today but I did not as Mentor 1

It seems too early for this email to me sent out. Specialty since there still 3-4 weeks left to compete. We have not even played our first event yet. I tried to contact FRC Finance Department as indicated but they are closed.

Greetings 2018 FIRST Championship Wait List Team!

We are pleased to be able to offer your team a spot in the 2018 FIRST Championship Detroit event at this time.

They can start running the waitlist as soon as they determine the spots are available. I imagine some 30ish regionals have already wrapped up by now.

Strange thing is I (Primary Contact) did not receive the email. Well We will take it and run next week as a long practice run.

Minnesota has been underrepresented at CMP in recent years. Your team will help to start correcting that.

Check your spam folder. You can also log into FIRSTInspires and check your team’s event status.

Congrats! We also received our email last year even before our first regional. I think we, like you, were a part of the very early rounds of waitlist invites. I certainly don’t know if we could have planned it with much shorter notice than we got.

Oh I searched the spam. I sent an accept and I assume I’ll learn more in the morning. This invite will have to-date 4 of the 17 Central MN Robotics Hub Teams in Detroit.

Last year we received our Wait List team email before our first (and only) competition, which was a Week 3 regional. Took some of the pressure off, but I wish the word could have gotten out after as a surprise. We were still only one of 5 Kansas teams to go to Champs.
