Team Overdrive Robot Preview Video - 2753

Here is a preview video of our newest robot for 2009 and our first FRC season.

Some info on this year’s build and video,

Robot is built with KISS in mind and to be completely reliable. We wanted a robust simple design that has a minimum of failure modes.
Yes it does have 12 wheels (we tested it and more seemed better to us).
Completely student designed, machined, built, and programmed.
All video was taken during real practice time and not setup takes.

Hope you like it!

Looks great Tyler! On behalf of Team 1038, I want to wish you and Team Overdrive Good Luck in your competitions.

Great job guys! You have been the most highly anticipated Rookie Team in the NJ area for many years now. Getting to meet and talk with some of your members at BE was really cool and left me with the impression that this is a team that has everything together and will be a strong team right from the get go. I can’t wait to compete with you guys next week.

This is one of the most simple and effective robots I’ve seen posted. Great work !

What type of material are you using for your conveyer belt ?

The belting is made of what is called a rug runner (basically spikey stuff that holds stuff down to carpets). Since we took the video the GDC released a ruling on its legality. So we had to change the belting, still works just as well though.

Good luck, Overdrive.

It was a great pleasure to meet some of your parents in the stands at Brunswick Eruption earlier this year and to watch your team interactions and performance on the field. You guys have a great attitude. Your smiles were huge.

All the best,
Jane

It was a little weird not having you guys around at the NJ FTC event to cycle power on your robot but I can see you still spent your time wisely. Great looking machine Overdrive! See you all around.

Lol, I guess I don’t need to power cycle in FRC.

Thanks!

Solid Robot with simple design. You’ll have a good season, I can tell.

Good luck in your competitions.

Thanks for the response, how do you fuse the plastic conveyor belt together ?
