Teams based on NASA property, how troubling has this government shutdown been for you?

No politics in this discussion, but since this has been an unusually long shutdown, how has your progress been affected, and if needed, how can other local teams aid you in accomplishing your goals?

I know that on the MCC competition stream team 118 said they still have access to their facility because Johnson space center is considered essential but I’m not sure about other NASA teams.

Awful :coffin:

Can you elaborate?

Generally, all of the equipment we use to actually construct prototypes and wire electronics are stuck inside of Kennedy. We’ve been scrambling to find machine shops with a quick turnaround so we can get our components manufactured, and then assemble it with limited tools in a school library. Since we can’t spend from NASA accounts, mentors have to foot the bill for any new components, and get reimbursed later.

Things are somewhat looking up, we found that the badging station has been open, so we’ve been able to get some badges issued to get on site.

We’ll see how that goes, they technically might not be meant to let students on the property, but I don’t know how strictly that’ll be enforced.
