Telescoping arm block and tackle wiring system

This is how we wired the end effector for our telescoping arm. Has anyone else done something similar? Any concerns?

Looks cool. But, I have a couple of concerns.

  1. Wire wear.
  2. Weight.
  3. one more place for the arm to add friction–which as it’s a 2-stage arm, it’s already got quite a bit.

If I were you, I’d get into the KOP for this year (and the last few years), grab the Igus bag, and pull out the energy chain. It’s designed for this sort of application.
