What about Adam’s dance moves?!?!?!
That would have been a great second pick at almost any PNW district.
I’d argue first pick.
Would probably be a 1st seed robot @ a bunch of events…
NOICE
That’s actually quite good. The shooter appears to be faster than 254’s was.
Are the intake wheels the same ones you used this year?
Backup bot AT BEST. /s
That was hilarious. Good luck at Madtown!
QFT!
Yeah, if that robot didnt play the exact same role as our robot it would be very appealing for a first pick.
Maybe I’m just not seeing it, but what causes the ball to be pushed up and out the shooter? Is it the action of the intake folding in all the way that causes this, or is there a separate mechanism to push it upward when it’s time to shoot?
Didn’t almost every robot play the same role (more or less)?
Finisher vs. Trusser vs. Inbounder, etc.
This is pretty clearly built to be a finisher, like 254 was for the most part.
It’s funny because I remember one of their mentors saying they designed to be the middle player (like they did at Waterloo), but they ended up being the best finisher in the world.
I’m really proud of the 973 crew for making this robot work so well. The robot was made in about two shop days total, and I feel is within the skill set of most FRC teams.
More details will follow later.
#systemintegration
There’s a small wheel on the back (vertical) section, right about in the middle. If that isn’t a “kick” device and/or shooting wheel, I’m not sure what it is… particularly with those Colsons sitting right behind the front frame looking suspiciously like a shooter.
Yup, it actually works with just the intake too. With some geometry tweaking it’d work pretty darn well with out the rear wheel, but currently there is too much compression in the intake portion so the rear wheel is a cheap band aid.
This whole robot was an exercise in prototyping primarily, the fact that we get to compete with two of them at one of the most competitive offseason events is just a bonus.
I’ve been wondering for a while…
What is up with 973’s intake wheels?
Are those lego mindstorm wheels??
This is definitely the best FRC parody of an FRC parody I have seen.
They’re rc car tires.
