*Because of its size and low density, it seems that air drag should have a substantial effect on the flight path of this year’s game piece.
Has anyone tried measuring the ball’s terminal velocity? Various web sites predict a value in the mid-to-upper thirties (feet/sec) for a sphere of its size and density.
If this is indeed the case, the effect on flight path is indeed substantial, as can be seen in the parabola vs air drag attachment located here.
