Thanks Dean for the Insulin Pump ......

I’ve been a diabetic for 24 years now and have treated it with everything from pills to shots. I recently switched to the insulin pump and I love it. It’s neat that one of Dean’s inventions is making my life so much better. I’m experiencing better glucose control and far better freedom in my daily routine.

In case your interested, I use the Animas PING.

Kinda bittersweet when you look at it eh?

Pretty cool that you get to use the pump though. My uncle also uses the insulin pump, not sure if only Dean’s version is the only one out there though.

Stay healthy, Ed!

At DEKA, we say that “we make the best products no one wants to have to use” and that “we wish we didn’t have a user base”. Home dialysis, the iBot, the Arm, etc. are all really cool life-changing pieces of technology, but they can not truly replace nature. I like to see our job as making the best band-aid possible while we wait for Bio Engineering (and politics) to catch up.

Dean’s previous company was the one that released the first portable insulin pump. Since then, many other companies have taken a crack at it.

Your statement of “far better freedom in my daily routine.” helps me remember why I work here. Thank You.
