I would like to take this opportunity to thank ALL the teams that participated at the West Michigan Regional. We are celebrating the success and even discussing improvements for next year!
I’ve just got to tell you about the most exciting final match that I have ever witnessed. Usually, right after the 2 minute match the winning alliance starts to celebrate, because they know the score before the official posting of the score. Not so at this regional this year. After the 2 minute buzzer, the house was silent except for the music. You could have cut the tension with a knife. The refs tallied the score and delivered the sheet to the scoring table. During all this time, which seemed like an eternity, no one in the house knew who had won! When the score was posted and flashed on the big screen, Red 32-Blue 31, the crowd went wild!!! What a fitting end to a great regional. Congratulations to teams 47 33 and 888. Without a doubt, it was the most exciting conclusion to an event that I have ever experienced! Thanks again to all who participated.
