Hey everyone,
This year’s great lakes Regional proved to be a bitter fight to the end for the eventually championship. Careful strategic pairings, changes from all-offense to heavy defence, and fight-to-the-death tug of wars were just some of the events that made those final rounds so exciting and different from the seeding rounds.
Team #349 ‘The Robahamas’ would like to thank everyone for the excitement of the day and to the FIRST staff for all the tough decisions and hard work they put in to make this event possible. Also special thanks to our alliance partners #201 Visteon-Rochester and #47 Chief Delphi for picking us as an alliance partner and not giving up despite disparging mechanical set backs. You guys were truly amazing partners and really great people, we were honoured to work with you.
Thanks again to everyone for the fabulous competition and we hope to see all of you either at a future regional or at nationals in florida!!

I second what Schuyler, our soon-to-be bald team member, had to say!! And remember, never bet your hair on a regional Schuyler!

I was totally impressed this weekend by what I saw at Great Lakes. There were more robots this year with with crazy ideas (that worked REALLY well) for grabbing balls or the pole then I ever imagined would happen this year. I gotta send a big congratulations to Chief Delphi, International Academy, Rochester H.S., Juggernauts, Huskie Brigade, and TechnoKats…it was the most exciting finals I’ve seen in awhile. I also gotta send a big thanks to Team 208 and HOT for picking us as allies and runnning a great quarterfinals match. Hope to see everyone again at Chicago or Nationals!
