The 2011-2012 Encyclopedia Robotica

TheEncyclopedia Roboticawas created for the 2011 MN Mock Kick Off event hosted by GOFIRST at the University of Minnesota. It was used to get rookie members of FRC teams up to speed on the different types of robots created in FIRST.

The Encyclopedia Robotica describes common drive trains, middle stages, and end effectors used by FRC teams. The document includes pictures the mechanism, descriptions, and things to keep in mind when building.

This is a living document that we plan on updating periodically. If you know of a design that could be added to this document please PM me or e-mail [email protected] and we can get you the information we need to add your design to the Encyclopedia. Members of our organization will be at the 2012 championship event and plan to take pictures of various robot mechanisms to add to the document.

This document does not describe all mechanisms used by FRC teams in competition. It was intended to be used as a way to get rookie FRC members up to speed on the different types of mechanisms that can be created

This is such a great document, since they stopped making the Behind the Design books, this is a very nice option to get rookie team members up to speed. I am probably going to distribute this to all the Houston rookie teams next year.

Thank you all for putting this together.
