The Awty Robotics Team, FRC 5829 Awtybots from Houston, TX would like to present their robot for the 2016 FRC season - “Crosshairs”.

4 Colson 4 inch wheels (horizontal layout 2 on each side)
Powered by two 775s on a VersaPlanetary Gearbox (3:1)
Chain reduction for speed 18:22
Final Max Wheel RPM ~7500
Compression 7"
Drivetrain
8 8" Pneumatic Wheels (MBS Vine Tires)
3/4" drop on the middle 2 wheels
4 CIM custom (1114 inspired) shifting gearboxes (12:40 First Stage, 14:44 Log Gear, 24:34 High Gear, 22:36 Chain reduction)
Intake
Adjustable angle multipurpose intake (CDF, Portcullis)
Angle powered by Minicim with a 100:1 Versaplanetary reduction and a 15:24 chain reduction.
Rollers powered by Minicim with a 5:1 Versaplanetary reduction
Polycord with forward and side rollers attached via hex broached bevel gears
Gives the ability to collect from any side
Hanger (not on final robot)
2 Stanley FatMAX tapemeasures for depositing hook powered by BAG motors with a 5:1 reduction.
2 CIM geared down 100:1 (on each side of the robot) for lifting it onto the bar

That’s a very nice design. I especially like how effective your intake is. It is more outstanding that this is your teams first year in FRC. Thanks for allowing us to use your workspace to finish off before bag and tag. We look forward to playing with you at Bayou and Lone Star.
AwtyBots are breathing new life into the Texas! This team is much more than just a robot. They have the space, mentors and resources to become another great Houston team.
With 21 new rookie teams in Texas this year, AwtyBots are laying out the roadmap for new rookies. Team 5829 went through all the right steps to become a solid rookie team. The Awty School robotics group has competed in VEX for multiple years and as 6587 pre-rookie in Texas Robot Round-up.
I encourage teams at Bayou and Lone Star to pay attention to the AwtyBots.
